... I found myself wondering why there aren't many pictures of Christ smiling, or Him interacting in a human way with people around Him. I mean, He must have smiled, right? He must have laughed as well. He was/is, after all, a human as well as God. Pictures I've seen depicting Him only show Him with a serious expression; sometimes even with a faint smile. If we're lucky. Could it be to create a certain divine distance between us mere mortals and Himself? To make Him look almighty compared the rest of us? Could be. But He was still a human, though.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still fond of the "standard" portrayal of Christ, but I found these rather heart-warming:
Now if that doesn't show not love for mankind, I don't know what is.
*sigh* Ok.
Assignment breathing down my neck (again),

elise kristin. =) just thought i'd leave a comment, hehe.. since you seem to like these. =)
your blogs are really.. interesting. hehe. you're very outspoken! wow. & your vocabulary's so complex.. it's so fun to read! (hahaha i'm a nerd, i know 8]) i <3 it when people put good content on their pages. cos i sure don't do that. not anymore at least, just don't have the time anymore i guess.
but anyways since this is a "comment box" i guess i'll comment on one thing. and it's about what you said.. that "being human is sinful".
you know, it's actually true that all humans sin. "For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard." - Romans 3:23
but it is also true that it is by Jesus' death on the cross that we are saved.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23
..and about Jesus being "human"..
"..Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. He laid aside
his mighty power and glory; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal's death on a cross. Because of this, God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name that is above every other name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." - Philippians 2:6-11
Jesus wasn't merely a human. He was a God. and though he was also human, he was sinless. which is why the bible tells us to live Christ-like lives. but we must first admit we are sinners, and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.. so that Christ can live in us and through us.. for "Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Christ did." - 1John 1:6
anyways..ahhhh.. sorry for making this super long. =/
hehe i should get back to studying. keep in touch =]. God bless.

Besides, I don't see why He shouldn't laugh! Why shouldn't God be happy?!
